"Easy, D.J. Not so fast, honey. We've got all night." |

She took a deep breath and nodded. |

"Let's move this to the bed, shall we?" Chris found talking helped to calm the blood pounding in his ears. They stood, and he took her hand. She clutched the blanket around her waist as though the covering were all that remained between her and disaster. He led her the short distance to the bed. Still holding her fingers in his, he drew back the quilt, then turned toward her. |

He placed his hand over hers and tugged her fingers away from their stranglehold on the blanket. The covering fell to the floor at her feet. D.J. avoided his gaze as he perused her full breasts and long, toned legs. Chris put his palms against her waist and rubbed his thumbs over the prominent bones at her hips. He bent to kiss her neck. |

"I'm not, Chris. I've never been beautiful. My hair's too red and too short. I'm too big in some places and too small in others. You don't have to tell me I'm beautiful. I want you anyway." |

He lifted his head and looked into her face. She still avoided his eyes. Chris put his fingertip under her chin and drew her head up until he could look into her eyes. "I don't know who told you those things, though I have a pretty good idea. Don't tell me you're not beautiful. I can see the truth." |

The corners of her lips tilted upward in a small smile of pleasure. In answer, she tugged his blanket free and it joined hers on the floor under their bare |
